‘Live marking’ is included in extended writing lessons instead of a standalone editing lesson.
Live marking’ (using a pink highlighter by the teacher) is used during the extended writing English lesson (for at least a paragraph for every child) to identify spelling, grammar and punctuation errors.
‘Live marking’ is also used for different groups of children during daily English lessons by the LSA and teacher. The teacher/LSA highlights in pink for children to edit their work with a purple pen.
Year 1 ‘Live mark’ from spring term -1 group at a time are taught to edit up to 2 sentences of their work during English and Extended Writing lessons.
