At St Mary’s, we believe the best schools have a pupil led culture where children take on key leadership roles and get their voices heard. We have two opportunities for Y6 pupils: RE Ambassadors and Pupil Chaplains. Here is some information on both of these roles in school.

RE Ambassadors

The RE Ambassadors have an important role in school and use their initiative and own ideas to promote RE at St Mary’s. The RE Ambassadors ensure that they are role models in demonstrating our school mission statement and virtues. They hold the responsibility to monitor class prayer areas around school and to evaluate weekly Celebrations of the word.

Pupil Chaplains

The Pupil Chaplains have an important role in school in demonstrating our school mission statement and virtues. The role of the Pupil Chaplain is to help the school to be a community of faith, encouraging the pupils to live their faith in daily living. They support worship, prayer and the spiritual life of the school. The pupils are involved in fundraising for charities and continue to develop strong links with the Parish.
